HR Trends for 2018
Now we have settled in to the brand-new year of 2018 it is time to start discussing what we may see on our HR radar throughout this year.
In 2017 we were told to expect HR to become more digital, see an increased focus on employee and engagement and greater use of real time feedback and analytics. What is research telling us to expect to see in the world of HR this year?

Engagement & technology employees
Technology employees can sometimes feel a lot of pressure, especially when the expectation is on them to find solutions to things quickly when they break or fail.
Introducing GDPR
With the new changes nearing it is no wonder GDPR is the topic of conversation for many of us. The new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) coming into effect in May 2018 means a lot of businesses will have to change the way they use and store personal data.
From May, you will only be able to market to customers/clients who have double opted into your emails meaning data which you use now, may not be compliant.
Making Tax Digital
HMRC has announced that by 2020 the Making Tax Digital initiative will be in place meaning it will be easier for individuals and businesses to ensure their tax is correct and access their own tax affairs online via digital accounts.
At the moment, it is estimated that £8 billion a year in tax is lost from avoidable errors and so making tax digital is hopefully going to reduce these costs.
