Quick-fire Questions with Myles Ahead of the 2026 Duathlon Championships in Banyoles
With the 2026 Duathlon Championships in Banyoles just around the corner, our Learning & Development Advisor, Myles, took a break from his final preparations to answer a few quick-fire questions.
Hi Myles, all set for the big race? When's your last training session?
Morning mate. I think so...ish. Haha.
I've got two sessions today and one tomorrow. Then I fly out on Wednesday evening, train on Thursday and Friday, rest on Saturday, and race on Sunday.
Duathlon training is a bit like Learning & Development – it never really stops.
So you really do go right to the wire. I wondered whether you'd be resting all week. What's your calorie intake been like?
As we get closer, the training eases off a little. Today definitely isn't one of those lighter days though – it’s full on.
To be honest, I just eat when I'm hungry. This event doesn't require quite as many calories as when I'm training for an Ironman, but I still eat plenty. I love my food.
What's your aim for this competition?
I originally entered the British Championships just for a bit of fun, then ended up qualifying for Team GB almost by accident. I'm just going to go out there, do my best, and enjoy the experience.
FACT3 have sponsored you again. How have they supported you?
They've sponsored the bike I race on, which has been a huge help. I've covered the travel, race suit, coaching and nutrition costs myself, so having that extra support has been brilliant.
How can people follow your progress?
My other half keeps everyone updated over on my Instagram account, @trihardmyles.
Well, good luck, Myles. We can't wait to hear how you get on.
