Employment Rights Bill update
Last week, the Employment Rights Bill faced a temporary setback in the House of Lords, with further scrutiny delaying its passage into law. While this means that Royal Assent has not yet been granted, the Bill remains very much alive – and its core reforms are still expected to reshape UK employment law once finalised.
At FACT3, we’re committed to staying fully abreast of developments like this, so we’re always well placed to advise and guide our clients. The Bill represents the most significant overhaul of employment legislation in decades, covering areas such as day-one rights to sick pay and parental leave, increased redundancy protections, limits on ‘fire and rehire’, and enhanced expectations around flexible working.
Once Royal Assent has been granted, we’ll be updating our website with new information to help SMEs understand what these changes will mean in practice. In the meantime, employers should continue reviewing contracts, policies, and training plans. The direction of travel is clear, even if the timeline has shifted slightly.
